International Research Symposium & Best Project Proposal on Empowering Women for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development

Marking the Thirteenth year of honoring inspiring women, men and corporates, Women in Management (WIM), in collaboration with Women in Work; a partnership between IFC and the government of Australia are organizing the “Top50 Women Global Economic Forum and Top50 Global Awards’ on 15th, 16th & 17th June 2023 at Colombo Sri Lanka, along with this global event the International Research Symposium & Best Project Proposals on Empowering Women for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development is organized on 16 June 2023 with the Knowledge & Academic Partnership of ATHEM, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
About University of Colombo
The University of Colombo, founded in 1921, is Sri Lanka’s oldest Higher Education Institution. About ATHEM, University of Colombo
With the intention of upgrading the tourism industry through an academic partnership, the Alumni ATHEM of University of Colombo is formed in 2015. Since its inception the Alumni ATHEM has played a vital role as the academic body of Sri Lanka Tourism, Economics and Entrepreneurship supporting the industry through research and development and knowledge.

Sub-Themes of Symposium
The sub-themes cover a wide range of areas that are of interest to stakeholders and reflecting a spectrum of ideas from policy interventions to practical innovations to economic recovery, resilience building and sustainable development.
Presentations would be grouped around five Sub themes;
- Women entrepreneurship and sustainable SMEs
- Women and inclusive economic growth
- Women leadership and career advancement
- Women empowerment and digitalized economy
- Women in inclusive and sustainable tourism
- Empowering of women for inclusive development

- All accepted full papers for publication will be published on a Special Volume of Journal of Tourism Economics and Applied Research, a peer reviewed biannual journal of University of Colombo.
- All accepted business proposals will be published on the symposium proceedings.
- Selected best papers will be getting the opportunity to presented at the Symposium and certificate will be awarded for the presenter
