Women-led Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are an important force in Sri Lanka’s economy. Across the country, women are building businesses, creating employment, supporting families, introducing innovative solutions and contributing to their communities.
Following the success of the inaugural Women MSME Awards, the 2nd Women MSME Awards 2026 provides a national platform to recognise and celebrate outstanding Sri Lankan women entrepreneurs across different stages and dimensions of business.
The Awards recognise not only business performance, but also resilience, innovation, leadership, responsible management, social impact and growth potential.

Who can apply?
The Awards are open to Sri Lankan women entrepreneurs who own and actively lead registered businesses.
MSME categories
*The Awards Secretariat will assess applications in accordance with the applicable Sri Lankan MSME framework and the nature of the business sector.
Business requirements
Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises
- Minimum 2 years of business operation
- Valid business/company registration
- Active involvement of the applicant in managing the business
Start-ups
- No two-year operational requirement
- No application processing fee
Upcoming Entrepreneurs
- No two-year operational requirement
- No application processing fee
- Designed for emerging entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses

Applicants will be required to provide:
- Completed online application
- Business registration details
- Ownership information
- Business profile
- Entrepreneurial JourneyYour story, challenges, achievements and aspirations
- Business performance and management information
- Three months of financial information
Your financial information is confidential
Financial information submitted as part of the application will be used strictly for the Awards assessment process as management evidence.
It will not be published, shared externally or used for promotional purposes.
